Official Language
The language of the conference is English.

Climate and Clothing
It is late summer in Lund in September and the temperatures can vary from 10 to 22 °C it is often sunny but please note there may be occasional showers.

Passport and Visas
Delegates are advised to contact the nearest embassy, consulate or travel agency for information about the passport and visa requirements from their country for entry to Sweden.

If you need an invitation letter to apply for a visa, such can be provided to attendees.
Please send your request by e-mail the conference secretariat at restoringforest2017@slu.se and provide:

  • your full name as it appears on your passport
  • your nationality
  • your affiliation
  • title of your paper (if applicable)

You need to register for the conference before your request for an invitation letter can be processed. No invitation letter will be issued until your registration has been completed, processed and paid in full, and the eligibility of your request can be assessed. Please note that Restoring Forest 2017 organisation will not refund attendees due to visa issues after the cancellation deadline 15 August.

Local Currency

The Swedish monetary unit is the Swedish krona (SEK), divided into 100 öre. In September 2016; Euro 1=SEK 9.57, USD 1=SEK 8,52, GBP 1=SEK 11,27.
Major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere including taxi. There are several currency exchange offices and cash dispensers at Malmö airport and the city of Lund.

Electricity
In Sweden the electrical voltage used is 220/230V.

Force Majeure
The organisers are not liable for any claims for damages and/or losses if the entire conference has to be cancelled due to a force majeure incident.

Disclaimer
The organisers are not liable for damages and/or losses of any kind which may be incurred by the conferencedelegates or by any other individuals accompanying them, both during the official activities as well as going to/from the conference. Delegates are responsible for their own safety and belongings.

Insurance and Vaccinations
The registration fee does not cover insurance for the delegates. The organisers recommend that delegates take out insurance in their home country to cover pre-journey cancellation for personal reasons and necessary insurance to cover accidents, medical expenses and loss of personal belongings during the visit. No vaccinations are needed when visiting Sweden.
